Sewing

My MIL bought me a sewing when I was pregnant.  The purpose of which was I can sew some things for my coming baby.  I was not working then so I had time to sew.  And I was pregnant.  I was able to sew some baby stuff, not much though.  The most that I have used my sewing machine was for mending or for hemming.  

We moved houses, so I packed my sewing machine.  It had not been unpacked for several years now.  What a shame really.  Sometimes, I get the urge or inclination to unpack it and some thing but as soon as I get home, I am just too tired and can't be bothered.

I own a sewing kit though.  Lookie, lookie.  Pretty, I'd say.  Do ata cases look like this?  

Mind you, I bought this from Aldi and this is from the Philippines, my birth country.  I like it very much as it can hold all of my supplies.  I have more supplies but if they don't fit here, then I don't need them, I reckon.

Fun and Reunion

This years overseas trip has been planned for a year or so.  Then middle of this year, my friend from Adelaide booked their own trip back home.  And guess what, they only paid 500 pesos return for their fare (plus fuel and other charges, of course).  But 500?  It's cheaper than one way domestic flight in the Philippines.  

We hatched a plan to meet up with our college classmates.  We have a slight problem though.  As we will be arriving a few days before we leave and they're all weekdays, it's so hard to get people to decide if they can attend or not.  Some volunteered to take a day off from work but it's a hard ask.  

My friend is now in the Philippines for almost a week.  We'll be flying home in less than three weeks time.  We have not received any confirmation of who will be attending.  Oh well, hopefully this get together will push-through.  Either way, I'll have to meet my college friends and it will have to be on a weekend.  

I just hope we'll have lots of fun jamming, catching up and just be with each other to reminisce the old times. I do hope there are guitars with most sizes that can accommodate all of us.

Paid Surveys

I am sure you all have heard about paid surveys.  some of you may have tried them?  any success?  I mean by success, you didn't need to go through all hoops like lots and lots of surveys to answer, spam mails in your inbox or sometimes spam phone call.  

We'll I have certainly tried some if not all.  It was when I didn't work for two years when I first came in Australia - getting preggers and you know, waiting until The Tatapilla was 13 months to go to work.  I can't say, I have any success at all.

But then, out of the blue I realised that indeed there's a credible survey site that pays me 5 bucks for every survey.  It's not often, I am not sure but probably every month.  And their questions are realistic.  It's all about family spending and eating habits.

Grass skirt

No I am not making a grass skirt, although I will admit, in one point of my life I have done it. It is the colour of my nail polish this week. I only have one hope - for it to last a week on my finger nails. I don't worry about my toe nails because they always last. But with kitchen duty, nail polish doesn't just last long.

Oh yes, I have time and patience this week to colour my nails. We have been having a relaxing weekend. I am learning to apply nail polish like professionals do. I don't want to be one but I just want to do my nails nicely. I have been doing my toe nails with pride but finger nails, no. I will share the tips I learned next time as I have to check what's this sildenafil 50 mg.

Should I Take Up Tea Drinking?

Well, I did when I was pregnant but it was not regular and it has not become a habit after. It's not the tea. It's more to do with the time to drink. I am not sure. Oh okay, it has something to do with taste. I can't seem to find the right kind of tea and taste to go with it, not that I sampled all kinds of tea. It's not like becoming and guitar connoisseur that one has to try everything including best m-audio keyboards. I suppose, the drive to become a tea drinker is not there. I guess I'll have to stick with coffee. Nothing wrong with it. I drink it very moderately.

We Are Back

yes, not that it can be noticed that we have been away if you base it from the post here. I have been slacking, that's why. But anyway, we have been away for almost a month and whew, it has been very relaxing. We are starting to pick things up on the home front. Seven loads of washing on the weekend that we got back not to mention the cleaning and vacuuming around the house. I can't say that we are back to what it was before we left but things are a little bit okay now. We are also back to cooking meals for the weekdays on weekends. With the Tatapilla going to school and with heaps of homework, it is getting difficult to go to sleep early on weekdays. But things are getting better. On the school front, Mcj is busy catching up on paperworks for being a treasurer of PNC at the Tatapilla's school. The Tatapilla is catching up on his homework. See it's like we have one of those work positioner thingie, things are going smoothly. And so yeah, we are back in Down Under and back to normal :)

Proof of Heaven

Thanks to my cousin-in-law, I have read this book. It was interesting read. I am a believer so there's no life changing occurences but more a validation of my beliefs and have more idea what is our after life would be - though Mcj has been sharing that to me. Hopefully, Dr Alexander will be successful in his desire like some of us, to make the lives of others more meaningful and improved. I have been waiting for the third installment and this trailer is just so funny that everyone is looking forward to it. I will not be seeing this movie soon but will get snippets off youtube when it has been shown in cinemas. There are many myths out there and because these days people have become health buff, they are bordering into gullible that are taken advantage of by those sharks. In bodyandsoul.com.au website, there are myths busted and this is one.

I am building my collections of magazines - not just your every week issues but those that are deemed as collectibles.  I don't have much yet but this one is certainly one of them.  The content of this mag is quite worth the read and the money.  

There are things worth paying and waiting for.  Maybe, great Amplifiers can be one of them. I collect any subject magazines of any subject - something that will be worth reading when I have retired.  Lol.

PDA Much

The most romantic place to be in Hollywood last night? The red carpet of the star-studdedArgo premiere.

At least it certainly looks that way, as not only did George Clooney and Stacy Keiblerquiet the breakup rumors that perpetually plague them by strolling arm-in-arm in front of reporters (and, more importantly, photographers), but the movie's star and director, Ben Affleck, exhibited some PDA of his own, puckering up for his leading lady, wife Jennifer Garner.

Not really much, this couple do not mooch as often as others I reckon.  Despite what I read in the comments, for me, it's just a show of affection.  They seem to be just a normal couple with Jen in her usual hair (I wonder if MySalonTools hair shears  has anything to do with it).  Nonetheless, they are my favourite celeb couple/family.

I always think that I am easy to please as I am happy with just very simple things like taking a walk but I am sure, Mcj has otherwise opinion of me - but that's what a husband is for, to contradict you.  Lol. And to make you coffee while you blog about a gold bar.

Have Yet to See the Ring

.. the reported 8 carat engagement ring of Jennifer Aniston that is. I am sure her fans around the world have been happy to hear the news that she is engaged. they seem to be happy and are able to guard their private life, a feat difficult in their career. I am sure fans want to know all the details but I would rather her life is not to much publicised. On the other note, I bought her perfume last weekend and I am not disappointed despite buying it without having tested the scent. It's very clean, just the way I like it. I am more into bargain like buying cheap appliance parts but this time, special or not I just had to have it. I am a fan, that's why.
