Should I Take Up Tea Drinking?

Well, I did when I was pregnant but it was not regular and it has not become a habit after. It's not the tea. It's more to do with the time to drink. I am not sure. Oh okay, it has something to do with taste. I can't seem to find the right kind of tea and taste to go with it, not that I sampled all kinds of tea. It's not like becoming and guitar connoisseur that one has to try everything including best m-audio keyboards. I suppose, the drive to become a tea drinker is not there. I guess I'll have to stick with coffee. Nothing wrong with it. I drink it very moderately.
You Are Measured
You believe in moderation, and you're pretty good at practicing it too. You avoid all extremes.
You try to live a sustainable life. You believe in conserving both your energy and your resources.

You're the type of person who puts a pot of tea on when you need some energy. You don't depend on it, but it gives you a boost.
Your signature tea: green tea - any and all kinds

Light and Clean

The reason I like Jennifer Aniston's perfume is, it is so natural. Like freshly laundered clothes. It's not much of a scent but it is very clean. I like clean scent. I'd rather smell flowery scent when going into aluminum garden gates than on me.
Your Scent is Fresh and Youthful
You love to smell great, but you're not big on heavy or complicated scents.
Your ideal scent is light, clean, and natural. You want your scent to be barely detectable.

You are real and down to earth. Your simplicity, charm, and optimism are very attractive.
The scents that fit you best are orange flower, grapefruit, and citrus.

Natural Fragrance

It's very recent that I was drawn into scents. I am more the natural kind or cologne type. So maybe natural scents is the way for me? Can I go back to natural or continue my ways and look forward just like printing envelopes online? Let's see when I finish my JA bottle.
Staying power Because of their botanical formulas, natural fragrances have a greater affinity with the skin and tend to wear better. “They linger on the skin,” Dallas-Kelly says. “They are bottled by hand and not in a factory. Also, they don’t go rancid so it increases the life of your perfume.” How to apply As most natural fragrances are oil-based, their application can become a beautiful ritual. To apply, dab or spritz lightly onto clean skin – between your breasts, in the crease of your elbow, on your wrists, at the nape of your neck and behind your ears. As your blood passes under the skin, its warmth encourages the fragrance to develop to its full potential. bodyandsoul.com.au

Lone Wolf

And I thought wolves can't be alone. This has some grain of truth in them. I am quick to admit I am very resilient. And I attributed it to my life experiences and my birth order. And yes, I did grow up quickly - I am still small though. But I have always referred to it as I grew up outside of my family. I am very independent that I moved out earlier than my peers. Even if I was with my family, I remember that I have made decisions on my own. I can say, I am rough around the edges with pandora charms hidden somewhere beneath. You've had some difficult experiences in your life, but you are wise from them. Having had to grow up quickly, you tend to discount the advice of others. You tend to be a loner, having learned that the only person you can depend on is yourself. Your strength: Well developed stability and confidence Your weakness: Suspicion of others Your power color: Eggplant Your power symbol: Spade Your power month: October What Does Your Birth Date Mean? Blogthings: Quizzes and Tests and Memes, Oh My!

Car Insurance

for this year was renewed this month. By moving one suburb north and away from town, my premium has dropped while for Mcj's 4WD has gone up. I'm talking of comprehensive car insurance. My roadside assistance plan is with a different company. Talking about that, we have used the service once. I have called up twice but the response time was long so I opted Mcj's instead.

Owning a car is indeed expensive. I am thankful that my little car is very fuel effecient. It can run almost 500k in a full tank, which isn't much - just half of a big car's tank. And that is city driving as I only drive from the house to the train station or to the shops. We reckon, it will be most cost effective if I was driving long distances.

I’m Not Surprised

WOMEN are earning more than ever and climbing the ranks of corporate Australia in bigger numbers, but when it comes to managing their financial future their track record remains ordinary.
That is the bleak assessment of financial empowerment coach Linda Coates, who says: "There's probably still a significant number of women who choose to ignore [it and] don't really do much about it.

"Somewhere between 24 and 40, where we've got our career path in place, we've done our university, we're making some good money but we just don't find time to actually figure out how to make that money work for us while we are doing the working."

Coates, guest speaker at a seminar titled A Man is Not a Financial Plan scheduled in Sydney earlier this week, continues: "We get caught up with the marriage, kids and everything else, we then get [to] around 40 to 50 and some of life's things start to change for us. And then we get to the stage where we go, 'Hey, you know what? We really don't understand what all that money is doing for us at the moment.'"

This seems sound true to me. I’m adamant to admit but my husband would vouch that indeed, I can’t manage my financials. Sometimes, I tip up the scales for being a mouse but most of the times, I’m just being a spend-thrift. It all boils down to my love of shopping.

Changes

A long time ago, when my husband was planning to get a phone plan for an IPhone, I objected vehemently. I didn’t see any sense or practicality in it at all. It’s just another expense that we don’t need.

Last week, my boss has been very generous. He offered me a phone plan with IPhone. Although, the first question I asked was if I need to pay for it, and thankfully, I won’t. Now, I’m beginning to see the benefits of having an IPhone and I’m liking it. No, loving it. I haven’t spent a cent on the apps that I’ve bought but they are all so handy.

My work machine has been bugging me. It shuts itself down out of the blue. It works itself up too much that the fun just keeps on going on and on.

Recently, the company bought some new hardware. Although, I don’t want to impose but I really think I need a new machine if they want me to be more productive than what I am now (yeah, I’m the first person to toot my horn when it comes to productivity as I really believe I works faster). Enough said but I found out there’s no notebooks on the list of things delivered. But then there are desktops and they were to replace the development team’s laptops. And the laptops will be passed on to us. The Dev’s machines are way faster than ours. I’m not sure if they are hp laptops but I’m excited to get one. It wouldn’t be light built but I’m sure way better.

I'm Natural I Can Say That

You Are Charming and Natural

If someone were to ask you your secret to life, you'd just have to shrug. You don't know how you do it! You are naturally happy, friendly, and likable. You never try to be anyone else, and you don't aim to impress. You are refreshingly honest and simple. People know what they get with you, and that's reassuring. You are humble and sweet. You don't know why anyone would consider you special, and that's exactly what makes you so special.

Party true. For once, I have so many things to say but I know I'm special. Lol. That's why my husband is aiming to take my wish of vacation every year (even not in Outer Banks vacation).

I have but haven't changed at all.

You've Changed 52% in 10 Years

You've done a good job changing with the times, but deep down, you're still the same person.

You're clothes, job, and friends may have changed some - but time hasn't changed you.

The History

I was really not workaholic but living in a place far from my parents or any family, I was forced to. I need to while my time away rather than spend them aimlessly at the shop where I could put a hole in my hip pocket.

For almost seven years, I spent two thirds of my time in the office but not necessarily viewed as I was working. I was so fortunate to work in a very generous, dynamic and liberal organisation that allows employee to overstay in the office, using the company’s resources chatting, surfing the net, or just doing anything. The pattern of my week-days schedule became so routinely that it bordered boredom. For some maybe, but not for me. I love exploring things virtually and doing some reading and research.

I was a mere staff in the Treasury Department – senior staff maybe as when the supervisor is away, I did her duties, but I love what I was doing. Our team played a very important role in the company – managing its resources especially cash. We were using an operational financial system then.

The plan of the company to upgrade the financial system was brewing and there was so much politics and drama that I didn’t take part of it. But the team which eventually became the Enterprise Resource Planning team, needs a member from Treasury Department. I was the most senior; I know the ins and outs. The team leader needs to recommend one from their team but my boss didn’t want to push me up. The ERP team was viewed to be very important then that everyone wants to be a part of it. There was so much speculation running in the office who will be recommended, etc. One of the team leaders of the ERP team is my friend and she wanted me to be our representative. As I’ve said, my boss was pulling my leg. His reason was, I was not focused, I am careless and I get distracted easily. Of course, he didn’t say that in my face but in the conference of the finance bosses and one of them was and is still my best friend. Of course, she told me about it. I wasn’t hurt because deep down I know the real reason. They don’t want to lose me. I was too valuable for them. But even then with his reason, my ERP Team leader friend fought for me. Thanks to her.

To cut the long story short, I was with the ERP team for more than two years. Then along the way, I met my man, got married and moved to Australia. A year later, I gave birth to a beautiful boy. Everything was in good timing. I can’t look for work so what better way was it to spend my time than to rear a child. Two months before my li’l man’s 1st birthday, I got my permanent residence visa.

I’ve flung my resume’s over the net for some time. I’ve been, err we’ve been (with my hubs and little boy in tow) to at least 5 interviews and although they were hopefuls there was no offer. I was looking for work that was in-line with my previous life career or something that I can use my knowledge of the system. Then, one day I was called for an interview with the employer. You see, using an employment agency here is necessary to get a job. God works in mysterious ways indeed. The job ad that I wasn’t hoping to be qualified was the one that land me this job.

I was interviewed twice, they took a reference from my ex-boss in the Philippines and I started working a month after that.

I am really thankful that they gave me the opportunity despite my lack of local experience which was always the factor/questions that I dreaded to answer during job interviews.

I learned the system which was a far cry from what I used to in more or less two months. Yes, within two months in the company, I gave the accountant of one of our customers an informal training and it was sort of successful. I got bored at some point because there was really no substantial assignment thrown my way – it was the quiet time of the year, by the way. Mcj was so supportive. I always put my hands up for any small task.

I got permanent on the first week of December 2008. A perfect Christmas presents.

And now, I am honing myself for a big break – leading the new project which was down in Melbourne. That, while brewing this new blog. LOLs.
