In The Homefront

Everyone is ill in my family. My father-in-law was in hospital for almost two weeks. Before he was released, my mother-in-law was also hospitalised. All the while, the little boy stayed home to get better from cough and flu. I got a little bit ill but I avoided taking a day off work. My husband is now ill as well. Oh dear!

It's like we're breeding the virus at home. The weather doesn't help. It's been gloomy. A little bit of sunshine could have helped kills the bacteria.

Meanwhile, I keep myself amused (not with a newAcer Aspire) but this:

Optimistic

Although, I am a worry-wart I'd like to think that I am a very optimistic person. I endeavor to think only the good things in life. Maybe, because I am in the stage that I am happy and contented with what I am and what I have. Loose diamonds are nice but I dont aspire for it.

On Friday, a sensuous stranger entered Katie's life. By Sunday, her world would never be the same...

Stunning Katie Connelly submerged her painful past in a promising career, an elegant apartment, and men she could keep at a distance. Yet something vital was missing from her life -- until she met proud, rugged Ramon Galverra. With his urbane charm and his passionate nature, he gave her a love she had never known. In his arms, she came fully alive to his every touch. Still she was afraid to surrender her heart to this strong, willful, secretive man -- a man from a different world, a man with a bold, uncertain future...

New York Times bestselling author Judith McNaught captures the thrill of a once-in-a-lifetime passion in this tender and spellbinding novel.

As always, I'm cheating (just like taking natural vitamin that I keep telling myself I did but actually didnt't) as the impatient me would want to know if the ending is a happy-ever-after one. I'm a sucker for that type. Well, I know that it did have that though I'm just halfway there. You would ask why bother to read the rest, well, I really want to enjoy the story because it is that.

Funny Scenes

From the Sea Patrol.

My intent was to scour the net for some sea patrol scenes. I've mised the last episodes and I don't want to download it to my machine. But I found this instead along with some others that are funny (just like acne scar removal that works).

In the new season, some of my favourite characters in the previous seasons are gone though this time, they are all alright. I noticed that everyone were given their fair share of exposure which is quite good actually. Now, back to searching.

Influenced by the Weather

and the aesthetics as well. It's cold so I have to choose steaming coffee of course but in hot weather I like iced-coffee.

You Are a Traditionalist

You aren't impressed by anything that's too modern. You go for whatever is classic.
Some may call you a bit old school, but you know that old school eventually becomes new school! You are charming and outgoing. You know how to brighten anyone's day.
There's little anyone can complain about when you're around - except that you're gone quickly!

Although, I am traditionalist at the same time practical and non-conformist. So there's your conflicting personality that is called me. It's like choosing dereon but only because of the class.

Runaway Bride

I rented this movie last Tuesday but I haven't watched it yet though I think I have seen this movie several times.
Ike Graham, New York columnist, writes his text always at the last minute. This time, a drunken man in his favourite bar tells Ike about Maggie Carpenter, a woman who always flees from her grooms in the last possible moment. Ike, who does not have the best opinion about females anyway, writes an offensive column without researching the subject thoroughly. The next day, Ike gets fired by his publisher (and former wife), because he went too far and faked the facts, which real journalists don't do. Ike's only way back into the business now is to do a fact-based report on Maggie and her upcoming fourth wedding attempt, which Ike predicts to fail again. So, as he circles her like a vulture his prey-to-be, Maggie's opinion of Ike sinks below zero. Not only is Ike waiting for her to fail again but the whole town is poking fun at Maggie about her mistakes. But that is a point which Ike doesn't like.

I'm a hopeless romantic, what can I say. I know there are other movies to watch that I haven't seen yet but those movies are not guarantee that will make me feel good so why do I have to see them? Call me whatever (except eczema) but I like re-reading books and re-watching movies and sitcoms.

What I Did For Love

I want to own this book so I can read it over and over again. One of my project is to build my library of SEP books.

It's not easy being famous when your life is falling apart... Georgie York has been dumped by her movie star husband, her own film career is tanking, and her public image as a spunky romantic heroine is taking a serious beating.

What should a down-on-her-luck actress do? NOT go to Vegas...NOT run into her detestable former co-star—dreamboat-from-hell Bramwell Shepard...and NOT get caught up in a ridiculous incident that leads to a calamitous elopement. Before she knows it, Georgie has a fake marriage, fake husband, and maybe (or not) a fake sex life.

It's a paparazzi free-for-all, and Georgie's non-supporting cast doesn't help. There's Bram's punk-nightmare housekeeper; Georgie's pushy parent; a suck-up agent; an icy studio head; and her ex-husband's new wife, an international do-gooder who just might win the stupid Nobel Peace Prize!

As for Georgie's leading man... Bram, with his angel blue eyes and twisted black heart, has never cared about anyone but himself. Still, he's giving the performance of his life as man in love—thanks to the half a million dollars she's paying him. It was official. She'd married the devil. Or had she?

Two enemies find themselves working without a script in a town where the spotlight shines bright...and where the strongest emotions can wear startling disguises.

They are all good reads anywhere (even while doing thermogenic fat burners).

A Little Laugh

Actually a big one every Monday night. Half an hour is not enought but I have to make do with that. I can rent a season but I have to watch in 7 days. Not possible. I don't want to buy any so that leaves me with just watching it every Monday.

Laughter is the best medicine and a little bit maxoderm will certainly makes life more fun.

The Fashionistas

"If we only wore the same size!"
– Cameron Diaz, on making a style connection with her Knight and Day costar Tom Cruise's little fashionista Suri, to E!

I'm not a fan of both but in these photos they all look adorable in colours. And speaking of colours, these days are boring for me. All dull and bland due to a very cold weather. I just want to curl up in bed and read books - no worry about makeup and dark circles under eyes. And since when did I worry about them anyway?

Some Retaile Therapy

Online, I spotted those above - I like them. Offline, I bought The Tatapilla slippers, white pants for me and a bag yesterday. I didn't spend much - I'm being wise these days. Our car insurance would be due for renewal soon so I'm sure we'll be looking for affordable car insurance. Gone are the days of frivoulous spending. We haven't even talked of going on a holiday this year - which is unusual. We're all about savings for now.
